College Options

Planning for your future

One of the biggest decisions that a student has to make is what to do after graduation. Some choose to go directly into the work force while others seek to further their education at community colleges, trade schools, or universities in state and out of state.

How do I plan for college?

If you don't see the answer to our questions below, check with your school coordinator or email office@magnoliabendacademy.com for more information.

  • Where you plan to attend college may depend on a few factors such as location and cost to attend. You may choose to remain in state or look at institutions out of state. Research your choices well!
  • What you choose to major in is a personal decision you must make. It is a good idea to choose something that you are interested in. Research to see if that degree can be used where you live now or if you would need to go to relocate for work. Lastly, look at the job market to see if there is a demand for your intended degree as well as what the pay scale is. These all could help you decide on a degree.

Always check your college's website to see when admission applications open up and when they close. Often, universities encourage you to apply the summer between your junior and senior year. Many offer early bird scholarships so get those applications in early! You can always apply later in your senior year, but sometimes there will be less scholarship opportunities. Be mindful of deadlines!

Typically, you will complete your application online. Some colleges may ask you to upload your in-progress high school transcript, and some may ask for us to email it directly to them. Email office@magnoliabendacademy.com and we can help you with that. You are considered a homeschool student.

There are many ways to pay for college. You can qualify for TOPS, scholarships, grants, loans, or receive family assistance to help with the cost of college. Please see our LOSFA and FAFSA pages for more information.

Please let office@magnoliabendacademy know what college you plan to attend. After graduation, we will email your official transcript to the college of your choice.
